Glossary

Technical terms and definitions used throughout Price Play documentation.

A

Atomic Transaction

A database operation that either completes entirely or not at all. Prevents partial updates that could corrupt data.

B

BEP-20

The token standard on BNB Chain, equivalent to ERC-20 on Ethereum.

BNB Chain

The blockchain network where Price Play operates. Also known as BSC (Binance Smart Chain). Chain ID: 56.

C

CEX

Centralized Exchange. Traditional exchanges like Binance, MEXC, Bitget.

Chain ID

A unique identifier for a blockchain network. BNB Chain = 56, Ethereum = 1.

D

DEX

Decentralized Exchange. Platforms like PancakeSwap where you trade directly from your wallet.

E

Edge Function

Serverless backend functions that run on demand. Used for processing bets and withdrawals.

G

Gas

The fee paid to process transactions on the blockchain. Paid in BNB on BNB Chain.

M

MPC (Multi-Party Computation)

A cryptographic technique where a private key is split across multiple parties. No single party can access the full key. Used by Turnkey for secure signing.

Multiplier

The payout ratio for a bet. A 5x multiplier means you receive 5 times your stake if you win.

N

Nonce

A unique number used once. Prevents replay attacks by ensuring each withdrawal can only be processed once.

P

PancakeSwap

The largest DEX on BNB Chain. Where you can buy and sell $PLAY tokens.

R

Reentrancy Attack

An exploit where a contract calls back into itself before the first execution completes. Prevented by the checks-effects-interactions pattern.

RLS (Row Level Security)

Database security feature that restricts which rows a user can access. Ensures users can only see their own data.

S

Slippage

The difference between expected and actual price in a trade. Higher slippage = more price movement tolerance.

Smart Contract

Self-executing code on the blockchain. The Price Play Vault is a smart contract.

T

TEE (Trusted Execution Environment)

A secure area of a processor where code runs in isolation. Used by Turnkey to protect private keys.

Timeframe

The duration of a betting cycle. Price Play offers 5s, 10s, 15s, 30s, and 60s timeframes.

Token Gate

Access restriction based on token holdings. Price Play requires 100,000 $PLAY to access.

Tolerance

The price range within which a bet is considered a win. Varies by timeframe.

Turnkey

The MPC provider used for secure key management and transaction signing.

TWAP (Time-Weighted Average Price)

The average of multiple price points over time. Used to determine bet outcomes, preventing manipulation.

V

Vault

The smart contract that holds deposited BNB. Users deposit to and withdraw from the vault.

Verified Contract

A smart contract whose source code is published on the block explorer, allowing anyone to audit it.

Vesting

A schedule that releases tokens over time. Team tokens vest over 18 months.

W

WalletConnect

A protocol for connecting mobile wallets to web applications.

Web3

The decentralized web, built on blockchain technology. Also refers to the JavaScript library for interacting with Ethereum-compatible blockchains.
